"Hoh River Crossing"

While on a trip to the Olympic National Park in the Hoh River Rain Forest, I was lucky enough to witness this grand harem of cow elk crossing the river.  Although hesitant at first, the lead female finally made her splash and the rest followed close behind.  Due to location, the weather was overcast and misting; I wanted this painting to reflect the feelings one might experience in a temperate rain forest.
