This painting was based on a quiet little spot
under an old bridge just a few hundred feet from my house. I
took several photos during that summer, but never found the time
to paint this piece. It was in the back of my mind for
years, and finally, I was ready to put the piece together. I
had seen a dipper hanging around the area when I photographed the
reflections on the water, and wanted to incorporate the subtleness
of a dipper doing what dippers do best! It was accepted
into the Kentucky National
Wildlife Exhibition and the Portland Audubon Wild Arts
Competition and has recently sold.
