The heron on shot pouch creek has personal meaning to me.  I painted this piece several years ago, and most of it was painted plein air.  It's based on the creek that runs through my backyard, and to this day, the heron (I pretend it is still the same one) flies the stream corridor.  To top it off, the land behind my home (shown in this painting) was clearcut in 1999 and no longer looks the same.
