As of July 25th, 2008 this is almost finished. This piece, I'm calling "When the Water Meets the Sky" is a 12 x 16 gallery wrap canvas. I'll post the finished painting on the Gallery page when complete.

This is inside my studio where I work.... I'm currently working on this burrowing owl piece that I plan on entering in an upcoming competition.

This is a close-up of the burrowing owls.  I'm working with oil on board (primed masonite panel), and I still have a lot of work to do before it will be finished.  This gives you a feel of the layering that goes into a finished piece. 

With special thanks to Louise Shimmel, I photographed these owls from the Cascades Raptor Center, a non-profit nature center and wildlife hospital in  Eugene, Oregon. 

 I'm also going to be starting up on this piece again... I haven't worked on it for several years!  I hope to have it completed soon!
